This lively tribe were a pretty tough focus group but all girls sat still, listened to the book right to the end and then requested it again - it passed the tribe test!!

JoJoYoYo Book Series started with a throw away line from a beautiful young woman who said when she was around eight she forgot how to smile. This phrase stayed in my heart until I unwound it. This book "the little girl who forgot how to smile" is the first in a series of books about children who are just a little different. The 2nd book is going to deal with dyslexia, the 3rd with autism, the 4th with a physical disability and the 5th with twin girls who lost their father when they were 3 years old. It's about empathy - if children read my books and can understand why someone is a little sad in the playground or is having difficulty learning - simple little thoughts they can tuck into their toolboxes - simple moral compasses - I've achieved my goal.
